Three teens tumbled down Chilliwack cliff rescued

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) — Three teens in Chilliwack have escaped serious injury after falling off of a cliff Friday.

All three are responsive and have non-life threatening injuries but the assistance of search and rescue crews were required because of the terrain, darkness and weather.

Police estimate they tumbled about 40 feet down a ridge in a wooded area adjacent to a subdivision.

RCMP say they were called out to the Crimson Ridge area of the Promontory neighbourhood around 8:00 p.m.

Initially they were told there were two young people, but when first responders made contact with the teens they realized there were three.

Mounties say the ridge is a spot where teens are known to drink and party, but they don’t often get calls like this.
