BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — Friends and family of a missing Vancouver woman are distraught as the search for the 61-year-old continues almost a week later.

Burnaby RCMP located the woman’s blue Toyota Corolla near Fraser Foreshore Park the day she went missing.

According to Mounties, Winter’s bank card was last used at a grocery store three days before she went missing. She used her fob key in the parkade of her home near Gray Avenue and Wesbrook Mall on the same day around 6:20 p.m.

Mounties say Winter’s dog, Chloe, is also missing.

Long-time friend Laura-Leah Shaw says it’s highly unusual that Winter has gone missing.

“Just the kindest, nicest person anyone could ever meet,” she says.

“She is just such a wonderful person. Nobody could believe anything could happen to Monica.”

Winter is described as a white female, 5.5′ inches tall, and weighs 169 pounds.

If you have information on Winter’s whereabouts, contact the University RCMP non-emergency line at 604-224-1322 or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca and quote file number 20-408.
