Mounties cleared of wrongdoing in death of UBC student

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Independent Investigations Office has cleared mounties of any wrongdoing in the death of a UBC student two weeks ago.

He had been arrested by University RCMP early in the morning on February 5th.

He was soon released and brought back to his home but was then found dead under the Lions Gate bridge hours later.

The police watchdog says his death was not the result of RCMP action or inaction, so they have closed their investigation.
