Alberta company denying involvement in controversial Greta decal

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – An Alberta-based energy company is denying responsibility after a sexually suggestive image was posted online featuring what is supposed to be 17-year-old Greta Thunberg.

The image on a decal depicted the name of the climate activist and a figure engaged in a sex act, above the X-Site-Energy Services logo.

X-Site Energy is an oilfield and industrial water management services company serving central Alberta and northern B.C.

The image garnered much online attention, with many people condemning it.

X-Site general manager Doug Sparrow said the company is not responsible for the image and believes a third party posted it.

“You can’t run that. It’s just not right,” he said.

Sparrow said he had to hut down his personal Facebook page due to negative comments.

“They are calling me a rapist … ” he added.

“X-Site did not make that post or any employees from X-Site make that post.”
