JACK FM becomes JILL FM for International Women’s Day

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — In honour of International Women’s Day this Sunday, JACK FM has undergone a transformation and is now JILL FM.

Charis Hogg, morning show co-host on Vancouver’s JACK 96.9, says the move is an opportunity for our sister station to shine a light on the role that women play in the music industry, and beyond all year round.

“In any industry women have always been–over the past few generations–trying to carve a place for themselves. So this is sort of a further extension of that. We want to increase our opportunities, and this is giving a platform for just females,” she explains.

Jill FM will be playing an all-female music line-up through Sunday.

“Everybody here loves it, and people listening love it because you get to hear a lot of artists that don’t necessarily always make it onto JACK,” Hogg says.

The ‘street teams’ will also be out in various locations across metro Vancouver promoting the switch, as well as International Women’s Day.
