Abbotsford police arrest one man following reports of shots fired

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police in Abbotsford responded reports of shots fired after residents heard a loud bang and saw smoke coming from a window of a home.
It happened in the 32000 block of Clinton Avenue at around 8:30 pm.
Upon arrival, officers noticed bullet holes in the home’s exterior walls, and believe that may have been shot from the inside of the home.
Shots fired: last night at 8:22 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to shots fired from residence & initiated dialogue w resident who was in mental distress. A 23 yr old man was taken into custody w/out incident; now facing firearms charges.

Inside the building, police spoke with a 23-year-old man who “appeared to be in mental distress”.
After an hour, the man surrendered to police without incident.
He was taken to hospital and then released into police custody.
That man is now facing several firearm-related charges.
