Crash sends cab into bank in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Some Vancouver commuters got a glimpse of something they probably don’t see every day on Tuesday: a taxi fully inside a TD Bank.

Police say there was a two-car crash at Granville Street and 64th Avenue just after 9 a.m., and at least one of those vehicles careened into a building on the corner.

According to the VPD, it doesn’t look like there was any “significant structural damage” to the building.

“Thankfully, nobody was hurt in this accident,” VPD Sgt. Aaron Roed said.

Callers to NEWS 1130 say reported seeing debris everywhere and traffic backed up more than normal.

Police say both drivers are cooperating with police. It’s unclear what exactly caused the initial collision.
