Sophie Gregoire Trudeau tests positive for COVID-19

OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) — Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has been diagnosed with a case of the novel coronavirus, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Earlier Thursday, Justin Trudeau announced that he and his wife were self-isolating because she showed flu-like symptoms after returning from London.

The statement issued Thursday evening says the prime minister’s wife is feeling well.

“[She] is taking all recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,” it continues.

Trudeau will remain in isolation for 14 days.

“The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms,” the statement says.”The Prime Minister will continue to fully assume his duties and will address Canadians tomorrow.”
