LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) — Eight firefighters for the Township of Langley are in self-isolation after they were exposed to someone with COVID-19 while on duty.

Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Ferguson says, eight of their members were exposed and told to self-isolate. Two of the firefighters have already been cleared and able to return to work.

According to The Langley Advance Times, the Fire Chief reportedly says the crews had responded to a medical call on March 9, and later found out the man they were helping had a confirmed case of the virus.

“There’s some, you know, a little bit of stress. They’re all concerned. So far, nobody is displaying any signs of the virus.”

The firefighters are said to be doing well.
