Update: A second COVID-19-related death has been reported in Ontario.

TORONTO – Ontario has confirmed 43 new coronavirus cases in the province, bringing the total there to 257.

Five cases have been resolved and one man has died in Ontario to date.

The details of many of the patients have not been released, but at least one person has been hospitalized and 11 are self-isolating. The man in hospital is in his 80s.

A number of the new cases are linked to travel, while many are still listed as pending.

Meanwhile, a Waterloo woman in her 20s is listed as having close contact and is self-isolating.

There are more than 3,900 cases currently under investigation in Ontario.

In Canada, around 700 cases of the virus have been confirmed. In total, nine people have died across the country, with the majority of death in B.C.
