City of Surrey closing all city-run day camps, daycares in civic facilities

By

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum has announced all city-run day camps and daycares in civic facilities will shutdown for the public as of Monday.

He adds families of first responders will still be able to access daycare. The shutdowns are being made in order to prioritize space for health workers, first responders, and essential service workers.

At this point, McCallum says parks, playgrounds and beaches will remain open, but he’s asking everyone to follow social distancing orders.

“I am proud of our residents for their calm and resolve during this time. We will get through this because we are all in this together,” McCallum says in a release.
