VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – To help stop the spread of COVID-19, TransLink is suspending fare collection on the HandyDART system.

Payment for HandyDART usually requires close contact between bus operators and customers.

Starting Wednesday, the step will be made to help enforce rules with social distancing, and part of that now involves the suspension of fares.

In addition, HandyDART vehicles are being sanitized and cleaned more frequently, operators are spacing out customers and each operator is supplied with a sanitizing kit.

Regular fees still apply on SkyTrain, West Coast Express and the SeaBus.
