Premier John Horgan makes special ‘eggs-emption’ for Easter Bunny ahead of Good Friday

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – While people are being told to limit their movements in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier John Horgan is allowing one special guest to travel around the province and spread Easter cheer.

Horgan has issued a special ‘eggs-emption’ for the Easter Bunny, allowing it to freely travel through British Columbia for what Horgan calls the ‘essential service of spreading eggs-ellent cheer”.

He says he made the exception after receiving letters from concerned children, who were worried the Easter Bunny would not be able to make a stop thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have made an exemption for the essential service list,” he says. “I’ve added the Easter Bunny, so there is no fear.”

Horgan says while the Easter Bunny is free to roam around the province and deliver goodies to children, there are certain rules it should follow.

” I have also a list of suggestions for the Easter Bunny, about washing paws about ensuring that there is some safe physical distancing when eggs are being distributed around British Columbia,” he says. “But the Easter Bunny will be here on the weekend kids, you can rest easy with that.”

Ahead of Easter, the province’s top doctor has urged worshippers to celebrate at home, and refrain from gathering in groups to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
