Thousands of dollars donated to family of Richmond care aide who died from COVID-19

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Donations have been flowing in to a GoFundMe page in support of the family of a Richmond man who recently died from the coronavirus.
The body of 49-year-old Warlito Valdez was discovered on Sunday while he was in self-isolation at his home.
According to the site, he was known to work as many as three jobs to support his wife and young daughter.

One of those jobs was with the Richmond Society for Community Living, where he worked with people with developmental disabilities.
Valdez became sick from the virus after he was exposed during his time as a front-line worker.
The donations will be given to his grieving wife and daughter, and help lessen their financial burden.
