Mounties investigating weapons possession in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Mounties in Surrey closed roads near Surrey Memorial Hospital Thursday to investigate reports of a man with a firearm.

Police were called to a home near 96 Avenue and 137 Street around 5:30 p.m. after receiving calls about a man with a weapon.

“Attending officers were able to locate the male who was subsequently taken into custody without incident,” reads a release from Surrey RCMP.

“While this investigation is still in its early stages initial indications are that this incident stems from an on-going dispute between parties known to one another.”
