One man seriously hurt after targeted stabbing in Burnaby

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — RCMP believes a stabbing in north Burnaby on Monday was targeted.

Burnaby RCMP received a report of a stabbing on Venables Street around 8 p.m.

Officers responded and found a 40-year-old man with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

“At this time, it is believed that this incident was targeted,” RCMP says in a release.

The RCMP investigative support team is looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing.

Police is aware that a suspect vehicle was seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed and wants to speak with anyone who may have seen it being driven erratically in the area at around 8 p.m.
