VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — One of Canada’s most wanted fugitives is back in the province.

Sgt. Frank Jang of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team in British Columbia says Brandon Teixeira arrived back on Canadian soil on Friday, after being held in custody in the United States since Dec. 1 following his arrest in Oroville, Calif.

“The extradition of Teixeira back to Canada ends a long journey for many investigators from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit,” IHIT says in a release.

Teixeira faces several criminal charges, including first-degree murder of Nicholas Khabra, who was gunned down in Surrey back in October 2017.

“The pursuit of Teixeira has been continuous and unwavering since he fled on September 5, 2018,” the release reads.

Teixeira will make his next appearance in B.C provincial court at a later date.
