NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) — A woman who reportedly broke into a nurse’s locker at Royal Columbian Hospital two weeks ago been identified, and charged.

New Westminister Police say they identified 19-year-old Taylor Minion using surveillance video.

She allegedly disguised herself in hospital scrubs before going into a staff-only area and stealing cash and credit cards. After leaving the hospital she apparently used the card at a nearby business.

“It is upsetting that someone would allegedly steal from health care staff, especially while they are at work in a hospital,” said Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We’re working with hospital staff and security to help ensure that this is doesn’t happen again.”

Police say Minion was already in jail for “unrelated offences.” She was charged with four crimes, including fraud and break-and-enter on Monday.

Her next court appearance is set for Tuesday.
