TORONTO – The Hearts and Smiles campaign has reached a milestone, raising over $1-million for Canada’s frontline workers.
The Rogers Sports and Media campaign launched on Tuesday, raising more than $700,000 in the first 24 hours through the sale of t-shirts and masks.
All proceeds will be donated to the Frontline Fund, which helps more than 150 hospital foundations across Canada.
“I am inspired by our frontline healthcare professionals and their tremendous dedication to the safety and wellbeing of Canadians,” said Joe Natale, President & CEO, Rogers Communications. “We are blown away by the response to this initiative, and I am incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work.”
Rogers says Canadians came out in record numbers to support The Frontline Fund.
“I really believe we live in the greatest country in the world, because in times of need Canadians always rally together for the greater good,” said Jordan Banks, President, Rogers Sports & Media. “I am humbled by the courage and commitment of our frontline healthcare workers and proud of our team for joining Canadians in recognizing and celebrating this group of deserving heroes. A million thanks, Canada!”
The fund helps provide healthcare workers nationwide with personal protective equipment. Along with PPE, it also provides frontline workers with resources and other supplies, and is helping to fund development of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Frontline workers have got our backs, and we want to have theirs.
