VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — For anyone who missed out on buying a pair of the now sold-out Terry Fox replica shoes, there’s still a chance to get them, but it won’t be cheap.
The replica shoes went on sale Wednesday morning and sold out almost instantly.
By Thursday, pairs had popped up on eBay for at least double the price, and some re-sellers are even asking as much as $1,500 for the blue sneakers.
The replicas were being sold by Adidas for $130 to mark the 40th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.
A second release is still possible since Terry’s brother, Darryl Fox, has teased on social media that more shoes are coming.

Net proceeds of the shoes, as well as a commemorative T-shirt, go to fund cancer research.
To date, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised more than $800 million for cancer awareness and research.
