SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Surrey RCMP arrested a 37-year-old man earlier this week for impaired driving twice in the same night.
A Surrey RCMP officer first came across a collision involving an SUV and a sedan before midnight Monday.
The driver of the SUV was arrested for impaired driving and had his vehicle was impounded, according to police.

The man was released from custody and issued an appearance notice and a driving prohibition, then was taken home by officers.
“Fortunately, no serious injuries were sustained by any of the parties involved in the collision,” Sgt. Dave Chu says in a release.
RCMP later received report of an alleged impaired driver who had crashed into a fence.
Officers identified the driver as the same man they had arrested hours earlier for impaired driving, although he was in a different vehicle.
He was arrested again for driving while impaired and prohibited.
The man has not been charged, but police will forward a report to the B.C. Public Prosecution Service.
