Delta police looking for 3 people who crossed paths with missing senior

DELTA (NEWS 1130) — Delta police are looking for three witnesses who crossed paths with a missing man with dementia.

88-year-old North Delta resident Jarnail Sanghera has been missing since May 15.

Police released a surveillance video Friday of the individuals walking behind the man— and say, they are the last people known to have seen him.

The video shows Sanghera near 89 Avenue and 112 Street.

“In the video you can see there is a couple walking behind our missing and a person who walks directly past Mr. Sanghera. Police would like to speak to all three individuals to determine if they might have any information about the route he was taking,” a release reads.

Police are circulating the video in hopes that the people captured will see it and realize they encountered someone who is now being searched for.

Cris Leykauf, Delta police public affairs manager, says some tips have come in as a result of the video.

“Search and Rescue has been brought back out again [Saturday moning]. And they are now searching in an area north of Burns Bog,” Leykauf says.

Sanghera was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, light blue turban, grey jogging pants, and black running shoes. He also has an Ek Onkar Symbol on the back of one of his hands and only speaks Punjabi.

If you see Sanghera or have information on his whereabouts, contact the Delta Police at 604-946-4411.
