IHIT investigating man’s body found during foot patrol in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Homicide investigators are now investigating a body found Thursday by Surrey RCMP officers during a foot patrol.

A man was found dead by members of the department’s mental health outreach team near Bridgeview Drive and King George Boulevard just after 8 p.m., according to a RCMP release.

The cause of death and circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries are being treated as suspicious, police adds.

RCMP didn’t indicate how long his body may have been there.

Members of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and Surrey RCMP continue to gather evidence.
