KAMLOOPS — The mayor of Kamloops is asking for support from city council to explore options for a permanent memorial for a member of the Snowbirds who died there.
Ken Christian says there have been many requests from residents to establish a memorial honouring Captain Jennifer Casey.
Casey was killed when the jet she was travelling in went down in a Kamloops neighbourhood, ending the Snowbirds’ cross-country tour meant to inspire hope during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Christian hopes the city can work with Casey’s family and the Royal Canadian Air Force to erect a memorial in a new park being built near the city’s airport.
