Eight couples to marry at Vancouver City Hall in series of micro-weddings

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Eight couples will be saying ‘I do’ in a series of micro-weddings on Friday, June the 19th.

They’re taking place at the Helena Gutteridge Plaza, not far from Vancouver City Hall, and is part of a pilot project.

Bookings were open for micro-weddings last month, and up to ten people can attend while physical distancing.

Groups are also allowed to bring their own decorations, as long as they’re zero-waste and don’t include litter like confetti and rice.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are other restrictions that need to be followed.

Couples are expected to bring their own officiant, marriage license, photographer, and food and drinks other than water are not allowed.
