VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) — An unprovoked assault in Victoria early Wednesday may have been a hate crime, according to police.
Officers say around 1 a.m. witnesses reported a man was allegedly struck over the head with a bottle by the suspect who yelled derogatory comments about his sexual orientation before taking off with a small group.
The man was taken to the hospital.

Police are still looking for the suspect. He’s being described as white, with blond hair and was wearing a black baseball hat, a grey hoodie and black pants at the time of the attack.
