Kamloops man dies after being attacked by pit bull-type dog

KAMLOOPS (NEWS 1130) — A man in Kamloops died Monday after being attacked by a dog described by police as a pit bull.
Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a dog attack at a home on Singh Street around at 11:45 a.m.
“People in the house state that a pit bull owned by a resident attacked a man who was visiting,” says an RCMP release.
“Subsequently, the man died of his injuries.”

As of Monday afternoon, according to police, the dog was secured on the deck of the residence.
“Conservation Officers are on scene and will sedate the dog after which, it will be euthanized.”
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is investigating the man’s death.
The man’s identity is being withheld for privacy reasons.
