VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Ryan Reynolds is stepping up to support conservation efforts in one of his favourite parts of BC, the Great Bear Rainforest.
The actor and entrepreneur — originally from Vancouver — says he’s matching donations to environmental group Pacific Wild, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 between Canada Day, July 1 and BC Day, August 3.
“If you’ve ever panned one of my movies or hated one of my movies, this is your chance for revenge,” he says. “Make me pay for it.”
According to Reynolds, the purpose of the matching challenge is to “help raise money for the critical conservation work” done by the Pacific Wild.
“I guess it’s kind of my way to help ensure that the rain forests that I grew up with as a kid are still going to be there … for my kids and for hopefully their kids to.”
