PNE announces new lineup of events, ride reopenings ahead of BC Day weekend

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The PNE has revealed its next round of events and rides reopening in part of this summer’s “modified park experience.”

As of August 1, additional rides like Revelation, Westcoast Wheel, and The Wooden Roller Coaster will be added to the lineup.

And just in time for BC Day weekend, the fair will also bring forth another instalment in their food series.

“We’re also excited to present the next event in our Taste of the PNE series, celebrating our incredible province this weekend, August 1-3,” PNE CEO Shelley Frost said in a release.

“We are supporting more local vendors for this drive-thru and are able to welcome guests who don’t have access to a car for a safe, new, dine-in the park experience. Come celebrate BC with us this weekend!”

And to continue preventing the spread of the virus, Playland has enhanced with a list of safety protocols.

Visitors will still need to wear their souvenir Playland face mask in the lineups and might notice some extra space between them and others as there will be a limited capacity.

Playland will be open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All guests are also being asked to pre-purchase tickets in advance at ticketleader.ca.
