Woman allegedly assaulted, robbed on Vancouver bus

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A woman was apparently attacked and robbed by four youths while riding a bus in downtown Vancouver Friday night.

Cst. Mike Yake with Metro Vancouver Transit Police says the woman was riding a bus near Waterfront SkyTrain station around 11:30 when she noticed the young people.

“Sometime during her journey she noted that there were four youth on the bus who were drinking alcohol and vaping. When the woman told them to stop an argument ensued and at some point, the victim was allegedly assaulted and robbed,” he says, adding the woman was offered medical attention by the responding officers.

The four youth were found and arrested at Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station soon after.

They were later released with conditions and into the custody of their guardians.

No charges have been recommended or laid at this point.
