Two Langley elementary schools vandalized with graffiti

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) — A couple of Langley schools will be getting a paint job starting Monday as the district sends crews to cover up graffiti scrawled on the outside of buildings.

The Langley School District was notified Sunday about graffiti “including tags and profanity” at two elementary schools — Simonds and Alice Brown.

“Staff will be investigating as well as checking other school sites for similar incidents. As in past years, the schools will be following up with conversations about code of conduct and respectful behaviour with students in September,” writes a spokesperson in an email.

“The District does not tolerate this type of incident. This graffiti does not reflect the two school communities.”

The cost of cleaning up the graffiti comes out of the district’s budget.
