VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A 23-year-old man from Victoria has been charged with manslaughter in a stabbing death last month outside the overdose prevention site at St. Paul’s Hospital.

Maximus Roland Hayes was arrested on Thursday in North Vancouver and charged with one count of manslaughter, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for a man who had been stabbed outside of the Overdose Prevention Site at St. Paul’s Hospital on July 27.

Thomus Donaghy was rushed to the hospital, but died of his injuries.

Hayes remains in custody.
