COVID-19 case confirmed at Surrey’s Czorny Alzheimer Centre

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — A worker at Surrey’s Czorny Alzheimer Centre has tested positive for COVID-19,

The staff member is self-isolating at home and residents and family members are being informed of the case, according to Fraser Health.

The 72-bed Czorny Alzheimer Centre is owned and operated by Fraser Health, and provides long-term care to people with dementia.

Residents live in “six homelike cottage living spaces” in order to provide ” provide psychological security and comfort.”

Editor’s note: A previous version of this story said 480 personnel were sent to this care home by Fraser Health. In fact, that number encompasses staff deployed throughout the entire region as part of the health authority’s response.
