Suspect arrested after fatal hit-and-run in Ladysmith

LADYSMITH (NEWS 1130) — The person believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a mother in Ladysmith has been arrested, according to Mounties.
The RCMP says he was arrested on an “unrelated matter” Wednesday morning and because charges have not been laid, Mounties aren’t releasing the suspect’s name or location.

The man is in custody and the investigation continues, police say.
“BC RCMP Traffic Services will not be providing further updates with respect to this investigation as it continues and transitions to the Courts,” reads a release.
On Saturday morning, a Ford F-150 flew over a median and slammed into an oncoming SUV.
The woman who died has been identified in fundraisers as Katie Blog. She leaves behind her husband and two children.
