Positive COVID-19 case forces entire class into isolation at NW Calgary high school

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One person at Bowness High School has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement released by the school and Calgary’s board of education (CBE).

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is contacting anyone who has come in close contact with that person.

AHS and CBE have not divulged if the individual is a student or teacher.

One parent took to Twitter saying Health Link called his family, and his son’s entire class will need to self-isolate for the next two weeks.

Bowness High School will remain open. Classes will resume on Sept. 8.

Alberta Health is working with the high school to ensure the proper cleaning occurs before the start of the school week.

The statement explains that if you do not receive a call from Health Link, your child should not be at risk of contracting COVID-19 from the infected individual.
