BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — The Fraser Health Authority is reporting another COVID-19 outbreak at an acute care hospital in Metro Vancouver.

One heart patient at Burnaby Hospital has tested positive and according to the health authority, it’s possible that the person may have been exposed to the virus at the hospital.

The patient is now isolating at home.

The 286-bed facility is still open, but the cardiac unit is currently not accepting any new patients or visitors.

The outbreak comes as someone from Vancouver’s Holy Family Hospital tested positive for the coronavirus. The long-term care home has been linked to 21 deaths between June and August.
