COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — Conservation officers are out with a warning of “numerous” cougar sightings on the Coquitlam Crunch Trail Friday morning.
The animal was spotted in the same area where a bear was filmed taking a swipe at a jogger two weeks ago.
“In one case, a hiker spotted a cougar in the grass and their dog, which was off-leash, approached it,” reads a Facebook post from the Conservation Officer Service.
“The cougar swiped at the dog and then chased it in the direction of people before leaving the area. The dog received stitches and is otherwise fine.”
