South Vancouver shooting reportedly leaves one dead

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It appears there’s been a fatal shooting in South Vancouver.
The VPD isn’t confirming the details and will only say that officers were responding to a “major police incident in the area.” However, reports suggest a body was taken away from a home on 64th Avenue west of Knight Street.

Neighbours tell CityNews they heard at least five shots ring out just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
On scene in the area of Knight/64th/Marine Drive.@VancouverPD presence remains high with road closures in effect.

There are also suggestions a burning car was found in Richmond shortly after the apparent shooting — which is a hallmark of a gang hit.
Vancouver police had earlier confirmed they were looking into a homicide in the South Vancouver area. However, they have since issued a correction, saying they were confirming a death in East Vancouver.
