Vancouver sees three homicides in two locations Wednesday night

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Wednesday night was a violent one in Vancouver, with three homicides confirmed in the city — all reportedly within the same hour.
Police say two people were “found unresponsive in a room” at the Astoria Hotel along East Hastings just before 7:30 p.m.
“One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at hospital,” police say in a release.
It was shortly after that that the VPD says officers began receiving 9-1-1 calls about possible shots being fired in South Vancouver. When officers arrived to the area of 64th Avenue, west of Knight Street, they found a victim “dead in front of a house in the area.”

The VPD says the murders at the two locations are not connected. Police also believe there is no risk to the public.
