Vancouver sees three homicides in two locations Wednesday night

Police are investigating three homicides at two different locations in the city. As Greg Harper explains, not a lot of information is being released about the two separate incidents.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Wednesday night was a violent one in Vancouver, with three homicides confirmed in the city — all reportedly within the same hour.

Police say two people were “found unresponsive in a room” at the Astoria Hotel along East Hastings just before 7:30 p.m.

“One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at hospital,” police say in a release.

It was shortly after that that the VPD says officers began receiving 9-1-1 calls about possible shots being fired in South Vancouver. When officers arrived to the area of 64th Avenue, west of Knight Street, they found a victim “dead in front of a house in the area.”

The VPD says the murders at the two locations are not connected. Police also believe there is no risk to the public.

No arrests have been made. Investigators are pleading with anyone who may have information about any of these deaths to contact detectives at 604.717.2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477.
