SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Surrey School District continues to rise, with four new ones reported on Thursday.
According to Surrey Superintendent Jordan Tinney, people who tested positive for the coronavirus were at Lord Tweedsmuir secondary, North Surrey Secondary, T.E. Scott Elementary, and Morgan Elementary.
In a letter to parents, Tinney says a person “who is a confirmed COVID-19 case” was at Lord Tweedsmuir on Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Meanwhile, a person with COVID-19 was at T.E. Scott on those same days, while someone with the virus was at North Surrey Secondary on the Tuesday only.
When it comes to the possible exposure at Morgan Elementary, Tinney says an individual who had tested positive for COVID-19 was at the school between Sept. 8 and 10 — the first week when teachers and staff returned to prepare for the upcoming school year and when students were welcomed back for orientation.
So far, there have been several confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Fraser Valley schools since classes resumed.
