COVID-19 case confirmed at Canada Post processing centre

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) — A Canada Post processing centre in Richmond had to be closed for cleaning after a worker tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee did not contract the virus while on the job, according to a statement from the corporation.
Canada Post was informed that the staff member tested positive Thursday, but says the person last worked Sunday.
“While at work the employee practiced physical distancing and wore a mask,” says a statement from a spokesperson.
“We are putting safety first and will continue to evaluate the situation, work with public health officials and our local joint health and safety committee and keep our employees and the public informed.”
The processing centre is located at 5940 Ferguson Rd.
