Staff member at New Westminster long term care home tests positive for COVID-19

Fraser Health is confirming another case of COVID-19 at a retirement home in New Westminister.

NEW WESTMINISTER (NEWS 1130) — Fraser Health is confirming another case of COVID-19 at a retirement home in New Westminister.

On Saturday, the health authority reported a staff member at Thornebridge Gardens Retirement Residence has tested positive for the virus.

The staff member is self-isolation at their home.

Families and residents are being informed of the exposure and a Fraser Health rapid response team is at the site.

“Enhanced control measures have been put in place at the site. Fraser Health is working with staff to identify anyone who may have been exposed and is taking steps to protect the health of all staff, residents and families,” a statement reads.

The Thornebridge Gardens Retirement Residence is an assisted living and independent living facility which is owned and operated by Verve Senior Living.
