Staff member at Surrey long-term care facility tests positive for COVID-19: Fraser Health

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — A staff member at a long-term care facility in Surrey has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Fraser Health Authority.

In a release Sunday, Fraser Health confirmed the staff member at Harrison West at Elim Village is self-isolating in their home.

The Fraser Health rapid response team is at the site and residents and families are being notified.

“Enhanced control measures have been put in place at the site. Fraser Health is working with staff to identify anyone who may have been exposed and is taking steps to protect the health of all staff, residents and families,” the release reads.

There was a previous outbreak at the Elim Village but only one staff member was infected and it was declared over in mid-April.
