NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) — A man has been arrested and charged following a break and enter in the Queen’s Park neighbourhood.

On Sept 8., New Westminster Police say officers were called to a home in the area after valuables were stolen from a kitchen.

Shortly after, a welfare check call brought police to a man a block away from the home. Police say he had the items missing from the nearby home.

Paramedics were called to provide additional care, according to police.

Part of the investigation then led to a “large amount of property” being found at a home during a search warrant. Investigators are trying to determine which items have been stolen.

Joshua Joseph Gutstein, a 31-year-old New Westminster man, been charged with break and enter.

“Residents are asked to be vigilant about securing their homes and garages,” says Chief Const. Dave Jansen in a release.

Anyone who was the victim of a break and enter is asked to report it in order to determine if any of the stolen property is theirs. Serial numbers are helpful, but any photographs can be given to investigators.
