50-year-old motorcyclist dies in Langley crash

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) — A 50-year-old man from Surrey died Monday evening when he was struck by a vehicle after being thrown from his motorcycle.

RCMP was called about a collision on Highway 1 at the 200th Street on-ramp in Langley around 7:15 p.m.

Officers determined a motorcycle heading west on the ramp lost control and collided with the raised barrier separating the through lanes.

The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the right-most lane of Highway 1, where he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was transported to hospital with critical injuries and later died, Cpl. Mike Halskov says in a release.

The collision and death remain under investigation.
