Coquitlam Mounties are trying to find the person who damaged COVID-19 warning signs

The signs were up at Lafarge Lake in Town Centre Park and remind people to keep their distance

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — Police are trying to find the man they say damaged COVID-19 signs warning people to maintain physical distancing at Lafarge Lake in Town Centre Park in Coquitlam.

Police say they received a call last month about someone who sprayed the word “hoax” on some of the signs. Mounties believe a person did that over three different periods between Sept. 19 and 23.

The suspect is described by police as a clean-shaven white man, thought to be between 25 and 35 years old. He is between 5’6″ and 5’8″ tall, and was seen wearing an orange jacket with ripped jeans.
