Man pleads guilty in Emily Carr University arson

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A Vancouver man pleaded guilty this week to criminal charges related to arson at Emily Carr University of Art and Design last year, according to police.
Nathan Macleod, 41, pleaded guilty Wednesday to deliberately setting a fire at Emily Carr University on Oct. 5, says Vancouver Police Const. Tania Visintin.
Vancouver Fire Rescue Services initially responded to the fire.

Vancouver Police took over the investigation after it was determined the fire was suspicious. Macleod was arrested a few days after and was initially charged with two counts of break and enter and one count of arson.

The damage resulting from the flames forced the closure of Emily Carr for several days.
