Thanksgiving followed by dollop of snow on B.C. highways

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Snow is in the forecast for some major B.C. highways as folks head home after celebrating Thanksgiving.

A snow warning is in effect for the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kamloops. Some fell overnight and you can expect rain today.

Along the Coquihalla, as much as 15 cm fell overnight — mainly rain is expected on your drive today.

Looking at the Hope Princeton, about five cm did come down.

If you’re heading up to Whistler, no snow is expected on the Sea-to-Sky, although it could be a bit gusty.

And a reminder — you are required to have winter tires if you are heading along those routes.

And while drivers might not be keen about this shift in the weather — it’s a bright spot for skiers and snowboarders, with Grouse seeing a few flakes come down this weekend.
