SQUAMISH (NEWS 1130) — A dog declared dangerous by bylaw officers in Squamish has been stolen from the pound where it was being kept.
The dog, a German Shepherd named Max, has a history of aggressive behavior towards people and animals and there is concern it may hurt someone again, according to Squamish RCMP.
“There have been instances in the past where this dog had attacked people and had cornered people and animals,” Sgt. Sascha Banks said.

She added the bylaws department had deemed the dog dangerous seized it. It’s believed someone broke into the pound last week and took the canine.
“We’re looking into all avenues,” Banks said. “And definitely somebody who we would be looking at is somebody who owns the dog or has been around the dog, and that’s something we are addressing at this time.”
RCMP asks anyone who sees the dog to call the detachment at 604-892-6100 or Crime Stoppers.
