Bassett was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at West Pender and Abbott Street in September 2019.

Two men – a 28-year old from Langley, and a 25-year-old from Surrey – were injured.

“Investigators believe that this gang shooting was in relation to control of the drug trade in the downtown eastside,” Const. Tania Visintin says in a release.

Bassett is expected back in court later this month.
